Zandra de Araujo is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum at the University of Missouri. She earned her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Florida, M.Ed in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida, and Ph.D in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia. Dr. de Araujo is a former public high school mathematics teacher and she currently teaches courses for elementary and secondary preservice teachers, inservice teachers, and graduate students. She is also the faculty mentor for the College of Education’s Dorsey Scholars Program.

Dr. de Araujo’s research examines teachers’ use of mathematics curriculum. Her work has been published in a number of journals including the Journal of Urban Mathematics Education, the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, Teaching and Teacher Education, Teaching Children Mathematics, and the Journal of Mathematical Behavior. Currently, Dr. de Araujo is a co-PI on the NSF-Funded Quality Elementary Science Teaching (QuEST) grant that examines practicum-based professional development for elementary teachers. She is also a co-PI on two other funded projects including one examining flipped mathematics teaching and a second examining a novel, field-based approach to preservice teacher learning.
