Esther Bettney

Esther Bettney is a Project Assistant with the WIDA International School Consortium and a PhD Candidate in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from Canada, Esther has spent the majority of her adult life engaged in multilingual education in Central and South America, as a classroom teacher, program administrator, teacher educator and educational researcher. Esther regularly presents at academic conferences and has upcoming articles in the Journal of Language, Identity, & Education and the Journal of Belonging, Identity, Language, and Diversity. Esther’s work reflects her commitment to celebrate, support and advocate for multilingual students, teachers and schools around the globe.
