Natalee Hawks

WIDA Director of Professional Learning Operations

Natalee has deep experience in K-12 education, higher education and at the State Education Agency level. Prior to joining WIDA, Natalee was a classroom teacher, district MLL instructional coach, Title III Director for the State of Montana, and Director of Learning Design. She taught on the Blackfeet Indian Nation in Montana and worked as an adjunct professor at Montana State University supporting the revitalization of native languages along with academic language in public schools. She is passionate about ensuring everyone has a voice in order to build equitable and culturally responsive solutions. Natalee holds a BA in Education from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado. She lives in Montana with her husband, son and three dogs; they love hiking, camping, skiing and enjoying the Montana scenery.
