Hetal Ascher
WIDA Professional Learning Specialist
Hetal Ascher is a Professional Learning Specialist on WIDA's ELRP team. She has ten years of experience teaching ESL in the US and abroad. She spent the last few years coordinating the ESL program for an international school in Beijing. She has volunteered with various professional organizations such as FOBISIA and TESOL International in various capacities including organizing an online conference, serving on an interest section steering committee, and writing regular posts for the TESOL blog. This year she is the Incoming Chair of TESOL's Professional Development Council. She has an MA in ESL Education with Reading from Hamline University (USA) and a BA in ESL Education K-12 from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul (USA). In her free time, she enjoys camping, reading, and studying Chinese.
