Alessia Marigo

Assessment Innovation Spec

Alessia Marigo, Ph.D., develops and implements simulation and automation technologies to enhance professional learning and assessment. With a deep understanding of educational standards, psychometrics, and the application of technology in education, Marigo designs and develops cutting-edge assessments, from traditional formats to complex performance tasks and simulations. Passionate about creating interactive, engaging, and accessible learning experiences, she leverages technology and AI to build large-scale solutions, including scenario-based tasks, digital learning modules, and AI-powered feedback systems.

Alessia’s experience spans K–12 leadership (STEM Dean at LEAP Academy Charter School) and large-scale assessment development (at ETS). Her work has focused on aligning curricula to Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, as well as creating innovative assessment and learning materials. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Robotic Engineering from the University of Pisa, and has a background in applied mathematics research.
