Christopher Birke
Research Administrator
Chris Birke is a Research Administrator in the WCER Business Office. He started at WCER in 2015 as a Financial Specialist navigating the Center’s faculty and staff through travel reimbursements and the associated policies and procedures. In 2019, Chris joined the WCER Grants Team and was welcomed to the world of Research Administration. Chris assists faculty and staff in applying for both federal and non-federal grants as well as provides pre- and post-award support for projects being administered by WCER.
Born in Chicago and raised in Madison, Chris attended St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. After graduating, he worked in Project Management, Business Operations and Accounting roles in Green Bay, WI. Chris then returned home to Madison in October 2015 to begin working with the University of Wisconsin – Madison and the WCER.
