State Relations Specialist

Xatlí supports State Educational Agencies (SEAs) in navigating the WIDA portfolio, ensuring members maximize the resources and benefits of their consortium membership. With over 18 years of experience across K–12 and postsecondary settings in both Colombia and the United States, she is a dedicated advocate for educator leadership and multilingual learner success.

Before joining WIDA, Xatlí served as a multilingual learner/Title III consultant at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). In this role, she provided strategic leadership in standards implementation, guiding statewide adoption and best practices; compliance, managing federal and state requirements and grant-related initiatives; and collaborative growth, strengthening educator voices through the development of communities of practice.

Xatlí is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and holds an M.A. in Educational Technology from North Carolina Central University and an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from North Carolina Greensboro College. Fuera de sus compromisos profesionales, Xatlí es una viajera apasionada. She enjoys exploring new destinations and discovering local food and coffee culture with her husband - siempre en busca del próximo cafecito.
