The Reading Revolution: Multilinguial Literacies in International Education Settings

With a Mid-Career Fellowship from the Spencer Foundation, Lesley Bartlett is conducting research that asks how learning to read depends on the language(s) being learned and the contexts in which the learning occurs.

Bartlett examines multilingual literacy pedagogies and assessments. She will focus on Swahili and Spanish; both are the medium of instruction for early-grade reading programs in many countries experiencing radical reading reforms.
