Tickets Available for YWCA Madison’s 2022 Racial Justice Summit

Everyone at WCER is invited to attend YWCA Madison‘s annual Racial Justice Summit at the end of September.

The event, titled “Weaving Our Pasts, Present, and Emergent Futures for Racial Justice and Co-Liberation,” will feature one in-person day of programming at the Monona Terrace on Sept. 30, preceded by two days of online sessions Sept. 28–29. Tickets are available for purchase for either the virtual summit or the in-person day or both.

WCER’s Shahanna McKinney-Baldon is a volunteer member of the summit planning committee. An evaluator with the Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) and co-director of of its WCER Clinical Program, McKinney-Baldon is a leader in work for racial equity and ethnic diversity in public education and the community. She was WCER’s Special Assistant for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from 2018 to 2021.

Summit speakers will include Angela Y. Davis, Ericka Huggins, Rudy Bankston, Fania E. Davis, Autumn Brown, Linda Sarsour, and Jenifer Garcia-Mendoza.
