Betsy DiSalvo will emphasize three approaches to participatory design that have informed her work focused on improving learning practice:
Medium probe focuses on design choices related to communication media;
Metadesign practices structur design so it can be reshaped and interpreted by users;
Positioning the Participant Designer as Learner overcomes preconceived ideas and encourages open reflection.
